Statham Lodge wedding photography
Another week another blog and this time I’m proud to present Emily and Adams gorgeous wedding at Statham Lodge. I was really looking forward to this wedding for two reasons. The first is that Statham lodge is a venue I’ve been keen to work at for quite some time. However, as it falls outside the usual area my enquiries come from, I’d never had the opportunity to shoot there. The other reason is that I shot Emilys sisters wedding a few years before and was really excited to see everyone again. Have a look at Katie and Craigs wedding at Rowton Hall here. It’s a great honour to be chosen to document someones wedding so to be asked back to photograph a wedding for another family member is very proud moment indeed.
Statham Lodge Hotel
Statham Lodge is located in Lymm near Warrington, Cheshire. A stunning Georgian manor house with fantastic gardens and stacks of great opportunities for a wedding photographer. It is a joy to photograph fantastic couples in fantastic locations like this. I’d like to point out that even although this was my first visit to the venue I found the manager to be very welcoming towards me, he saw that I was fed and watered and I very much appreciate his hospitality. If suppliers are treated so kindly I’ve no doubt the guest are extremely well looked after!
St Albans church Stockport
I started photographing at Emily’s parents house where Emily, and her bridesmaids got ready for the day. The house was bursting at the seams with bridesmaids, dresses and stylists. It’s no wonder dad was hiding downstairs keeping himself out of the way (thank for the cuppa btw!).
Once Emily was ready it as time to come downstairs to reveal her dress to the bridesmaids for the first time. She looked absolutely stunning and her bridesmaids were visibly very excited for her.
Once everyone was ready it was time to make our way to the church. Like her sister Emily had chosen to get married at St Albans Church in Stockport, clearly an important church to the family. It is worth at this point mentioning the weather. Even although this was an August wedding it was very wet and rained most of the day.
Statham Lodge weddings
After the ceremony it was time to make the trip to Statham Lodge for the reception. It was a wet wedding with a lot of rain, but that didn’t stop Emily and Adam making the most of their wedding day, the couple and the guests just enjoyed the day regardless. This is something I can’t stress enough to my couples, rain will not spoil the enjoyment and emotion of your big day.
Wedding photography at Statham Lodge
I’m going to be honest here, at first I was a little disappointed that on the day I finally had chance to shoot at Statham Lodge the weather was so bad. Not because I thought it would spoil the day but because I knew I wouldn’t have chance to make full use of the grounds.
However looking back at the photographs I feel quite differently. Whilst I would have loved to use the grounds a little more, my style of wedding photography is about moments more than poses. It’s about telling the story of the day and looking at these photos I don’t think the weather matters one bit.
As the evening party began singer Matthew Roberts took to the floor to get the guests in the mood for a party. He had already performed once during the meal and had the guests dancing on the tables and swinging one another.
This was a fantastic wedding and I was made up to se everyone again. Emily and Adam are a wonderful couple and I wish them all the best for the future.
