Isablella and Jakes Deer Park wedding
Last year I finally got to shoot at a venue Ive been eager to work at for a good while, Deer Park in Worcester. Needless to say I was completely over joyed when Bella and Jake booked me to capture their big day at this amazing venue.
Deer Park Wedding venue
Deer Park is a gorgeous venue tucked away in the Cotswolds. Situated on over 1000 acres of beautifully maintained grounds deer park has something for everyone. The Hall itself features a range of rooms from traditional oak panelling to a more modern, but no less charming, room overlooking the amazing countryside views. There is of course the option for indoor ceremonies but as you can expect at this stunning venue the outdoor ceremonies are every popular, and this is where Bella and Jake decided to seal their vows.
As the name implies Deer Park has some very special visitors at certain points in the day. During the evening the groundsman feeds the deer which come surprisingly close to the venue. Unfortunately timings didn’t quite add up for us at the wedding and by time we got out for some photos with the deer they had moved further back up the hill. However this didn’t stop us from managing to capture a glimpse of them in the photos.
The Wood Norton
The first port of call was The Wood Norton where Bella was getting ready. The small details photographed during bridal preparations create the foundation of a great story. Now this girl really isn’t one to follow tradition, not only did she have her bridesmaids and main of honour but she also had some brosmaids and a maid of dis-honour, who certainly lived up to her reputation (in the nicest possible way of course)!
Deer Park weddings
Once Bella was ready it was time for me to head to Deer Park to ready for the ceremony. I caught up with Jake as he was greeting the arriving guests and it was great to see the couple had arranged for their dog to be present too!
As previously mentioned the couple had opted for an outdoor wedding ceremony and the weather was just about perfect. Being a summer wedding it was warm and bright but being slightly overcast the sun wasn’t too harsh or strong. I was a great ceremony, not too formal with plenty of laughs and tears thrown in for good measure.
Wedding photography at Deer Park
Bella and Jake totally got my style of wedding photography. They wanted to enjoy the day and leave me to capture lots of storytelling photos and this wedding suited that style perfectly. Of course the set wouldn’t be complete without some family photos and portraits of the happy couple. We spent a little time after the ceremony on some formal photos then nipped out again in the evening to make the most of the amazing views Deer Park has to offer.
During the sunset photos some hecklers started playfully giving Bella some stick, she knew exactly how to respond!
Wedding Reception at Deer Park
It was soon time for the guests to take their seats in preparation for the wedding breakfast and speeches. Everyone made their way into the Bredon room and the couple made their grand entrance. Speeches were fantastic, all with great humour and each the perfect duration.
After food guest enjoyed drinks outside on this warm summers evening while the band set up. I took the opportunity to capture some evening portraits of the couple before everyone made their way into the Panelled Hall for the cake cutting and first dance. Once again Bella throw tradition right out fo the window and surprised everyone by singing a number with the band, and a fine performance it was too.
The day ended with Isabella and Jake and their guests rocking the dance floor to their band. I knew it was going to be a fantastic wedding when Isabella and Jake booked me to photograph it and I won’t forget that one in a long time.
