Winter wedding at The Ashes Endon –
Lucy and Chris
Back in February I was back familiar territory at The Ashes venue in Endon. This was my first wedding in a row of three so I was really looking forward to a busy weekend capturing coupes special day.
As soon as I arrived at Lucy’s house I knew this was going to be a great wedding! Everyone was really friendly, excited and in the nicest possible way, a little bit crazy 😉 I know some brides are a bit apprehensive about whether to have photography during the getting ready stages, but it’s not all about make up going on, it’s about capturing the fun and excitement of the morning – and there was plenty of that today.
After spending an hour at Lucy’s house I made my way to the Ashes where the girls finished getting ready in the preparation suite ‘The Old Dairy’.
Chris soon arrived in a minibus with his groomsmen. The guys looked super sharp in their grey suits and I could detect a little bit of nerves in Chris’ voice as we caught up. I spent a little time capturing the guys get their button holes on before returning for Lucy’s fishing stages.
Wedding ceremony at The Ashes Barns
Lucy’s dad looked extremely proud as he came to collect her to walk her down the isle to Chris. The ceremony had moments of emotion and humour which broke the formality and added to the relaxed feel of the day.
Wedding photography at The Ashes
After the ceremony we got lucky with the weather, showers were forecast but we were blessed with a dry day so were able to make use of the beautiful grounds The Ashes has to offer. After doing a few family group photos we spent some time on couples portraits around the lake, which provides countless photo opportunities at any time of year.
This was another fantastic wedding at The Ashes Barns and it was great to work with Jack from Up Close wedding video again.
If you would like relaxed photography at your wedding please do get in touch to see what I can offer.
