A couple of weeks ago I got the chance to shoot something a little different, a double proposal in Manchester city centre.
I met Jenny and Kellie at a wedding last year. At the wedding Jenny spoke to me about doing a shoot for the couple in Manchester, we exchanged details and made plans via email to do the shoot early this year. Somewhere along the line Jenny mentioned that she was going to propose, as you can expect this turned things up a notch!
Manchester city centre proposal
Jenny kindly met me at Manchester Piccadilly station and and we made our way by tram to meet Kellie. The idea of the shoot was to do a few posed shots but mainly to capture the couple enjoying time with a documentary approach.
After the first few posed shots we planned on going to a bench on Peters street where the couple first began to hold hands and mark the start of their relationship. It was at this point that Kellie told me she was going to propose as well..now that was sure to complicate things! At this point I held back and just let the story unfold, capturing them discreetly so as not to ruin the moments.
Kellie proposed to Jenny, jenny proposed to Kellie. It was perfect and I was overjoyed to have been there to capture it of them.
Afterwards we made our way to ProperTea, a lovely tea room next to Manchester Cathedral. For a small town guy like me I was quite bemused in this posh tearoom, they gave me two tea pots, a timer, strainer and all sorts. I have to say it was a lovely cuppa though!
