Amelia and Alistair’s New Years Eve wedding at Pendrell Hall

Amelia and Alistair chose to celebrate their wedding on the final day of 2018, New Years Eve. I’ve been a wedding photographer for around 8 years now but this is the first time I’ve worked a New Years Eve wedding. I was thrilled to be part of such a fantastic double celebration.

What better place for my first New Years Eve wedding than Pendrell Hall. As their Dream team Photographer I visit Pendrell many times each year. It’s a venue you can never get bored of, you couldn’t ask for a more fantastic location to get married at.

Bride and Groom Prep

Amelia started her wedding day in Love is enough, the brides dressing suite at Pendrell. There were some great moments to capture as Amelia’s bridesmaids were blown away when seeing her in the rest for the first time.  Alistair was getting ready in the Lodge wish his groomsmen before heading up to Pendrell to tie the knot.

Wedding ceremony in The Ball Room

Due to having so many guests at their wedding Amelia and Alistair had their ceremony in The Ball room. This was great as I was also doing a little video for the couple, so I had plenty of space to set up the various different cameras. The couple had three close friends give readings during the ceremony, and it was clear from the high level of emotion how much they all cared for one other.

Winter weddings at Pendrell Hall

After the ceremony the guests enjoyed a wonderful drinks reception and the guests were free to roam the stunning grounds Pendrell has to offer. Although the light can be a challenge I do enjoy winter weddings, there is always such a cosy feel. The weather was fairly kind to us, dry and mainly cloudy which made for some lovely soft light.

Amelia and Alistair booked me for the natural photographs, they didn’t want many family groups and only a few couples shots, instead they wanted to spend themes amount of time enjoying the wedding and company of their family and friends.

Towards the end of the drinks reception the newly weds cut the cake and Amelia made a short speech. It was a nice break from the norm cutting the cake at this time of the day rather than the evening.

As the evening drew in, some epic tunes invited the newlyweds and their guests to rock the dance floor. DJ skills were provided by friends of the couple and the dance floor was rocking form the start.

I knew it was going to be a fantastic wedding when Amelia and Alistair booked me to photograph it and I wish them all the best.

If you’re having a wedding at Pendrell Hall, or anywhere else for that matter, please do get in touch to have a chat about your photography.
