A winter wedding at The Ashes
It was great to be back at The Ashes for Tom and Rebecca’s wedding in February. The Ashes is a great barn wedding venue in Staffordshire with extensive grounds and beautiful rustic barns which have been converted to a very high standard. Having so much space indoors and outdoors makes The Ashes an excellent choice for weddings all year round.
Wedding Party Games
Being a winter wedding the guys planned ahead and arranged some awesome games for during the drinks reception. There was passing the orange using your chin, chopstick skills and building plastic cup towers. Providing games is an excellent idea for all weddings regardless of the time of year. Its a great way to keep people entertained and help people break the ice and get to know one another.
Host the Roast
Jenkinsons caterers provide the food for The Ashes and on of their signature meals is called Host the Roast. This is where a person is nominated on each table to be the chef, given an apron and its their job to cave and serve everyone else at the table. Again this is a great way to break the ice and have a much less formal feeling to the meal.
The Ashmore Brothers
It was great to catch up with Liam and Matt from The Ashmore Brothers band. I’m a big fan of live music at weddings and The Ashmores are up there with the best of the best. Liam and Matt are always set up on time and full of energy ready to put on an awesome show.
All in all this was one of the most relaxed and chilled out weddings I’ve been to. The focus of the day was to make sure everyone just had a great time and enjoyed themselves and that clearly was the case. If you’re planning a wedding and would like a natural and relaxed style of photography please do get in touch.
